Shikar (shih-KAHR) is a region of Casindral, on the Dominarian plane of Corondor.
Description
Shikar was a kingdom west of the Great Salt Marshes of Western Golthonor, with Sulgh just across the river and Khone further northeast. Shikar is located in southern Corondor, in Casindral where the White Woods turn to plains. The towering spires of the majestic trade city were jewels on the continent's coast.[1]
History
During the Time of Legends, the people of Shikar sought knowledge and wisdom and developed scientific methods. They traded with the Kingdom of Khone through a path in the Sulgh swamp. When Sol'Kanar the Swamp King destroyed the path, the kingdoms of Khone and Shikar became known as the Contrary Kingdoms and were forced to send materials and slaves to Sol’Kanar on the Date of Tribute. This lasted for years until the Dragon War greatly weakened Sol'Kanar while Chondaeh killed everyone in Khone except Gydolien Mor. While Shikar thrived, Sol'Kanar crawled off to bide his time until his powers could return, while Gydolien plotted her revenge.[2][3]
In c. 2970 AR, Aldon was brought by his Serra Angel to see the Elvish Archers of Shikar.[4]
Shikar was conquered by Ravidel during the Planeswalker War. Eskil and Embereck attempted to defend it, but Leshrac then appeared and convinced Embereck to take on Ravidel directly, leaving Eskil to defend the city on his own. Eventually, the Elder Druid of Corondor and Teferi both arrived to help out, but by then it was too late, and the three could do little more than help the citizens of Shikar escape alive. Ravidel himself then turned up and killed the Elder Druid.[5]
