Aldon was a human figure from a Dominarian fable, remembered for his struggle to reclaim his home and lands after they were taken from him.
History
According to the tale, Aldon was a young man who lost his castle to the wizard Dreygar in the western part of the Domains. This event occurred sometime between the casting of the World Spell and the first year in the Reckoning of the Sages of Minorad. Forced into exile, Aldon retreated into the surrounding swamplands, seeking a way to regain what had been taken from him.
In his efforts, Aldon turned to magic, summoning several creatures to aid him. His first allies were a vampire, a frozen shade, and a bog wraith, beings tied to the dark powers he had embraced in his quest. Later, he summoned a Serra Angel, whose presence revealed to him the beauty and light still present in the world, providing a counterbalance to the darkness he had drawn upon. They grew close and fell in love. The angel showed Aldon the beauty of the world, and for the first time, he felt a renewed sense of hope.
The place known in the fable as Aldon's Hovel began as a simple cottage in the swamps where Aldon had taken refuge after Dreygar’s takeover. Over time, and especially after meeting the Serra Angel, Aldon transformed the hovel and its immediate surroundings, replacing the bleak swamp environment with vibrant greenery and cultivated beauty.
However, Dreygar, determined to keep his hold on the castle, responded by sending a fallen angel to seduce and corrupt Aldon. The attempt succeeded, and Aldon — alongside his summoned creatures and the Serra Angel — launched an assault on the castle. In the ensuing battle, the fallen angel betrayed Aldon, showing her true loyalty to Dreygar. The two angels slew each other, and Aldon killed Dreygar in a rage. With his enemies defeated, Aldon reclaimed his castle and ruled it once again, but would forevermore be mourning his lost love, whom he had sacrificed to reclaim a building of dead stone.
