Casindral (kah-SIN-drahl) is a prominent and historically significant region of southern Corondor on the plane of Dominaria. It is recognized as both a major territory and a nation, lying geographically between the lands of Stonehaven to the west and Golthonor to the east. The region is characterized primarily by its broad, open plains, which dominate much of its landscape and have long influenced both its agriculture and patterns of settlement.[1]
Major locations
- Battle Rising
– A historical battleground, remembered for the conflicts fought upon its soil.
- Cape of Casindral
– A notable coastal landmark situated to the south of the White Woods and to the north of Casindral Isle. It lies approximately midway between Stonehaven and Golthonor, making it a strategic location for navigation and travel along the southern coastline.[1]
- Casindral Isle
– An island located directly south of the mainland. Mariners have long regarded this island as a place of favorable omen, as passing it by sea often means being carried by the current at twice the speed of the southern albatross. The isle’s harbor served as the departure point for merchant ships, pleasure craft, and pirate vessels alike, since from this point any destination along Corondor’s Southern Coast could be reached. It also became an arrival site for unfortunate refugees fleeing unrest in the tropical land of Jamuura.[1]
- Kristina's Woods
– A woodland region associated with the alliance that united to defend Casindral against the encroaching threat of Ravidel's influence.
- Shikar
– A small but distinct kingdom with a long history of conflict. Shikar is located to the west of the Great Salt Marshes of Western Golthonor.[2]
- The White Woods
– A dense and scenic forest of broadleaf and silver birch trees, situated deep within the Quirion Sovereign. It became a refuge for many Elves of Terisiare during and after the Ice Age.[3]
- Quirion
– A notable elven nation that extends to the southern coasts of Corondor. Contemporary accounts often described Quirion as one of the most resilient realms, with lands believed to be among the last that would yield to invading forces.[4]
- The River Estolade
– A major river that flows through the heart of the White Woods, with Quirion settlements traditionally built along its banks to take advantage of the waterway’s resources and transportation routes.[4]
