Mara is a scarred and proud veteran of the war against the Eldrazi on the plane Zendikar.
Description
Mara is a resilient and courageous woman who fought in the defense of Sea Gate during the war against the Eldrazi. She is characterized by her light armor made of leather and metal in red and gold, and she wears a leaf-green cloak. Her hair is black and tied back in a braid, and she has bright green eyes. However, her appearance bears the scars of her bravery: the right side of her face is marred by corruption wounds, which also curl her right hand and cause her to limp slightly.
History
Mara was one of the defenders of Sea Gate during the Eldrazi invasion. In the heat of battle, she held back a swarm of broodlings and helped a dozen people escape the chaos. However, she was ultimately overrun and corrupted by the Eldrazi, leaving her with significant physical scars. Despite these injuries, Mara remains proud of her actions and does not regret her sacrifice. She continues to honor her fallen friends and comrades by visiting the war memorial, where she asks for their forgiveness and remembers their bravery. Despite her painful past, Mara's spirit remains unbroken, and she moves forward with a sense of duty and honor. She met Jace Beleren at Sea Gate when he returned there looking for Nahiri, and she shared her story with him.[1]
