Dr. Julius Jumblemorph, previously known as Julius Jameson, is a legendary hybrid creature from Bablovia.
Description
Julius Jumblemorph is a character introduced in Unstable as the leader of Crossbreed Labs. He was originally known as Dr. Julius Jameson and, in the past, worked with Dr. Luisa Rodriguez and Dr. Hana Tanaka to find a cure for cancer. The three had met at university and were considered the top minds in the field. Through their research, they discovered a particular iguana from the south of Bablovia appeared immune to a certain type of cell mutation. They wanted to transfer this immunity to a human, but during their trials, the subject instead grew an iguana tail. The other scientists thought of this as a failure, but Dr. Julius realized they had stumbled upon something new and profound. They could use their procedure to graft elements of other animals onto themselves. To demonstrate its usefulness, he undertook the procedure himself to get a pair of wings as he had always wanted to fly. He later opened up the procedure to students of the university, which saw a huge demand, allowing students to become any animal or any combination of animals.
Following this, the university became the center of a new way of life with people coming from all over Bablovia to join what was becoming a commune that would grow into Crossbread Labs. Creatures would alter themselves and then stay to live in a place where they weren't judged for embracing any combination of animals that defined who they were. Dr. Jameson underwent various other procedures himself, splicing his genes with numerous animals. After he mixed in dinosaur DNA, he chose to change his name and became Dr. Julius Jumblemorph.
Julius is the person who makes major policy decisions for the Lab. He appears to be a hybrid bipedal being comprised of numerous animals, including the head of a dinosaur, the wings of a bird, and the tail of a marine animal. It is unclear what the "base" being Dr. Julius was before his augmentation, but afterwards, he is considered to have part of every race within him. He sometimes acts as a teacher and wears a white lab coat.[1]
Trivia
- Dr. Julius Jameson is printed with no base creature type but has rule text saying he is every type, even when not on the battlefield. This is similar to Changeling.
