Coernn was a sorcerer in the Dark Age of Terisiare, on the plane of Dominaria.[1]

Description

Coernn was a pale, young man of seeming unimpressive appearance, but possessed magical talents that instilled in him bravery and confidence. He calmly stood his ground against large warriors like Quopomma. He was an enigmatic person, hiding his magic skills and real allegiance even from apparent allies like Maeveen O'Donagh.[1]

History

Coernn was secretly sent by Apepei to track down Yunnie, the prophesied inheritor of the Sigil of Iwset. Yunnie proved hard to track down, and Coernn thought for a while that the City of Shadows held the answers to his whereabouts. Using scrying methods, Coernn eventually discovered that Yunnie would appear in the village of Shingol, but by that time Vervamon refused to be turned away from the City of Shadows. It wasn't until they had spent a night there and been exposed to prophetic dreams, that Vervamon agreed to turn back and travel to Shingol. Maeveen O'Donagh located Yunnie near Shingol just as he was about to jump to his death off Merfolk Vista, and the quick-acting captain saved Yunnie's life.[1]

Coernn and Vervamon joined up with Yunnie and Maeveen, and after explaining the situation in the north to the others, Yunnie led them all north to Urhaalan Valley, where his adopted tribe of minotaurs were waging war on the elves of Eln Forest. Entering the caves of the Niroso, they faced off against the sorceress Sacumon. Coernn was crucial in this battle, deflecting Sacumon's spells and forcing her to use too much of herself to fuel her blood magic. In the end, Sacumon was killed, but Coernn was caught in the grip of a coal golem and burned to death in its fiery embrace. [1]
