Status Unknown

Artifacts known as Coal golems were artificial creatures created for war by the Niroso of the Colekgan Mountains during the Dark Age on Dominaria.

History

Coal golems were created by the Niroso as a creature of war. The Niroso were adept at finding undead creatures in the earth and veins of coal. They fired the golems from these dark deposits using their knowledge of magic. The coal golems were less intelligent than a goblin, built with only destruction as a goal. They were able to form very simple sentences, limited to utterances like "Kill." and "Kill you." They feared nothing. Their bodies were composed of piles of searing hot lumps stacked in the form of a large humanoid, the size of an ogre. Their eyes were flaming coals and their mouths gaped to display the heart of a blast furnace. They were able to throw off pieces of themselves, from burning pebbles to whole fireballs, leading to extensive local destruction when they fought, and burned down entire villages.[1]
