Isak Glen'Dard was a shapeshifter messenger, diplomat and spy living in the Dark Age of Terisiare, on the plane of Dominaria.[1]
Description
In his human form, Isak had a pleasant face and a slender body. He was able to shape change into a snake or the resemblance of a tree, bark, and all, but he could not change shape into something that was able to fly. He had a way of seeking enjoyment out of life, often humming or whistling a jaunty tune, keeping up a good mood despite inclement weather or other hindrances, and enjoying a glass of wine and a chosen companion. He was known to visit brothels, in Sarinth among other places.[1]
History
Isak worked as a go-between and messenger between different people of power. He ostensibly worked for Lord Peemel, but in parallel worked more directly for his advisor Digody, delivering messages to the likes of dangerous contacts like inquisitor Offero and the sorceress Sacumon, showing much confidence and little hesitation in handling his affairs. Isak secretly also worked for the lady Ihesia, his lover, effectively making him a triple agent.[1]
After the war between the minotaurs of Urhaalan Valley and the elves of Eln Forest started, Isak received orders from all of his superiors to kill the sorceress Sacumon, who had instigated the war. Isak used a tracing device and a propelling item left over from the Brothers' War to bring him onto Sacumon's trail, and he followed her into the caves where she had been meeting with the Niroso. He was too late to kill her, however, as she had already lost her life fighting Yunnie and Coernn. All that was left of her were the blue-glowing chunks of her corpse. Heading on to observe the battle against Tiyint, Isak noticed that Mytaru picked up the Living Armor discarded by Yunnie, and used it to great effect against the stone titan, although at the cost of his own life. Isak then climbed onto the lifeless statue and managed to pry the armor from the corpse of Mytaru. He put the Living Armor onto himself, then hid it underneath his clothes to keep the artifact a secret, and strolled on with his new powerful trinket, whistling a jaunty tune.[1]
