Coralhelm is a floating waterfall city on the continent of Tazeem on Zendikar, and the new capital of the plane's merfolk.
History
Built during the Battle for Zendikar, Coralhelm is a young settlement founded by Noyan Dar after the original merfolk Enclave — an island city of pale stone and sparkling crystals — was destroyed by the Eldrazi. Once a masterpiece of merfolk civilization, the old Enclave now lies in ruin.[1]
Located upriver in the Umara Gorge near its mouth above Halimar, Coralhelm Refuge is built inside a cluster of enormous floating conch shells, held in place by a complex network of nets and lines spanning the gorge walls. Curtains of falling water cascade around the settlement, while suspended bridges link the conch shelters to rocky islets.[2][1]
Noyan Dar, now the Coralhelm Commander, leads the refuge as both lullmage and scholar. Coralhelm has become a sanctuary for merfolk refugees from across Zendikar and relies on trade with human merchants and inland elves for essential goods.[1]
