Indigo Revolution Stormnexus Ritual Jace Beleren's attempt to fix the Multiverse

The Stormnexus Ritual was a climactic magical event on Tarkir in which the rebellion leaders of the humanoid clans summoned five spirit dragons to overthrow the dragonlords. Performed in 4562 AR by Narset with the assistance of the other khans, the ritual resulted in the defeat and disappearance of the dragonlords and the rise of the clans to power. The event also reactivated Tarkir's dragonstorms, which began appearing spontaneously on other planes.[1]

Description

The New Phyrexian Invasion, combined with the reduced frequency of dragonstorms, weakened the dragonlords' grip on power.[1] The humanoid rebellions that followed evolved from scattered militias and guerrilla fighters into overt uprisings, reclaiming the banners of the ancient clans. Former Planeswalker Narset, seeking to end what she saw as an endless battle of attrition, worked with Alniul, the Twice Whisperer of the Temur, to uncover a worn and faded spell scroll for the Stormnexus Ritual, said to "call forth the soul of Tarkir."[2] Although hesitant to use it due to its potential dangers, she was persuaded by the other rebellion leaders that it was the only way to unify the plane.

The ritual was performed at the ruins of the Crucible of the Spirit Dragon, where Narset, Eshki, Felothar, Kotis, and Zurgo invoked its power.[1] A massive dragonstorm manifested, and from it emerged five untethered spirits in draconic form. Narset shaped the first into Shiko; the others became Ureni, Betor, Teval, and Neriv, each called forth by one of the other khans. In a flash of binding power, each dragon was linked to their summoner, becoming the new symbolic and spiritual leader of their clan.

As the storm raged, the dragonlords and their remaining broods attempted to stop the ritual. A fierce battle ensued between the dragonlords and the newly formed spirit dragons. Ultimately, the dragonlords were defeated and seemingly swallowed by the massive storm.[1] Afterward, it became clear that the ritual had reactivated the plane's dragonstorms, giving rise to new wild dragons. While some heeded the call of the spirit dragons, most remained beyond control. The storms also caused environmental shifts, rendering parts of Tarkir uninhabitable.[1]

Following the victory, Narset was appointed Waymaster of the Jeskai Way, while the other khans assumed leadership over their respective clans with their spirit dragons as guiding forces.[3]
