Sidisi is a treacherous naga from Tarkir. She epitomizes the decadent and merciless nature of the Sultai Brood as it once was.
History
Original timeline
In the original, now-alternate timeline of Tarkir, Sidisi was the Sultai khan. As the khan, Sidisi considered herself to be the queen of the Sultai and aimed to gather all of the clans under her banner.[1] Her allegiance with the rakshasa provided her with incredible necromantic powers.
Current timeline
In the current timeline, however, Sidisi never became Khan and was reduced to one of Silumgar's undead slaves. However, with her unmatched necromantic powers, she was the only thing keeping the rest of the naga in any position of influence. Her ability to threaten, sway, and remove other politicians kept Sidisi at Silumgar's side as vizier, whispering tales to the dragon.[2][3] In the space where her heart had been in life, she fermented a mixture of Tarkir's most potent poisons, hoping to someday fatally poison the venom-breathing dragon.
After the New Phyrexian Invasion, Silumgar's kingdom fell to the resurgent clans and Sidisi lost all of her political influence. Gravely injured after a raid on Qarsi Palace, she left the court entirely and went to live in the northern swamps far away from civilization rather than submit herself to the Sultai.[4][5][6] There, she was protected by a retinue of zombie animals. She colluded with the rakshasa and disaffected citizens who wanted to return to Silumgar's rule to return herself to power. One of her rakshasa servants tricked Nishang, a former soldier from Kheru City, who she had raised as a sibsig, into making a pact. The rakshasa planted Sidisi's poison in Nishang's new arm prosthetic and forced him to attend a sibsig ceremony, where the poison spread through the ceremonial pool and destroyed hundreds of other sibsig.[7]
