Ureni is the Mythic Spirit Dragon associated with the Temur Frontier on the plane of Tarkir. This powerful entity was brought into existence following the completion of the Stormnexus Ritual by Narset, and was subsequently summoned by Eshki.[1]

Description

Ureni takes the form of a dragon with a bearlike physique, their body covered in moss and other natural growths, reflecting their deep bond with the wilderness.[2] After the oppressive reign of Atarka ended, Ureni emerged as a symbol of hope for the Temur clan. They act as a fierce guardian over both the Whisperers—shamans and tribal leaders—and the Temur lands, maintaining a profound spiritual connection to the territory.[3][4][5]

Ureni is known for their relentless defense against any who threaten the clan or its territory, quickly driving out intruders or those suspected of hostile intent.[3] Their trust is difficult to earn and easily broken; any betrayal may be met with swift and often violent retribution, or, if fortunate, exile from Ureni’s protection and the lands of the Temur.

Whereas Atarka's rule stripped the Temur of much of their humanity, reducing them to little more than a hunting pack, Ureni’s zealous guardianship ensures that nothing endangers the clan’s survival or spirit.[6] Serving as a counselor and protector, Ureni closely works with the Whisperers, providing guidance and support.[3][4]

Ureni is deeply involved in the everyday life of the Temur people and the health of their environment, frequently attuning to even subtle changes or disturbances within the clan’s communities and the surrounding ecosystems.[5]
