Jehesic was a small, fortified island nation in the Lat-Nam Straits on Terisiare, active during the Dark Age. Ruled by Lady Edara, it was known for its strong fortifications and strategic position south of Iwset, across the strait and bordering the Ilesemare Sea.[1]

History

Jehesic was drawn into conflict during the Iwset-Jehesic War, when Lord Peemel of Iwset sought to expand his influence by marrying Lady Edara. When she refused, Peemel declared war. During the war, Jehesic's sorceress Ferantia betrayed Edara, but was slain by Edara's secret lover Apepei. In retaliation for Ferantia's betrayal, Jehesic sank Iwset's navy and captured its general, Ihesia.[1]

The conflict ended in a chaotic series of events: Peemel kidnapped Edara, but was assassinated by his advisor Digody. Apepei killed Digody in turn, and with Peemel's heir Yunnie refusing the throne, Edara and Apepei forged an uneasy union of Jehesic and Iwset, though their claim to Iwset remained fragile and contested by figures like Ihesia and Offero.[1]

Despite the war's end, Jehesic did not survive into the Ice Age, as the advance of the Great Glacier eventually engulfed the island nation along with much of western Terisiare.
