Graypelt is a small druid encampment on the edge of Turntimber in central Ondu, on the plane of Zendikar.

Description

Graypelt is a modest settlement of human druids, hunters, trappers, and trailblazers on the outer edge of the Turntimber forest. Its name comes from the tents crafted from the woolly grey hides of Turntimber warthogs, though many other natural materials are used throughout the camp.

Explorers from Graypelt venture into the forest to locate nodes of primal mana hidden among Turntimber's ancient, twisting trees. They have developed a technique to temporarily stabilize and store small parcels of this mana—an innovation that has attracted the interest of powerful expeditionary forces seeking to tap into Zendikar's raw energy.[1][2]

History

In 4557 AR, Nissa Revane, Sorin Markov, and Anowon traveled to Graypelt following the destruction of Mosscrack. There they met the elderly merfolk cartographer Khalled, who provided them with a map to Akoum. Though Nissa initially planned to return to Turntimber, Khalled warned her of the rising threat of the Eldrazi and urged her to consider the fate of all Zendikar. Persuaded, Nissa chose to accompany Sorin and Anowon westward toward Makindi.[3]
