Varena was one of the best fighters in the House of Fentesk in Kush on Dominaria. After the Time of Troubles, she became the Grand Master of the Arena.
Description
Varena was a lean, angular woman with flowing red hair and light blue eyes.[1] She was a ninth-rank fighter and commanded authority over others in her house.[2] In Arena, she cast Psionic Blast, Reverse Damage, Wall of Swords,[3] and summoned Wolves, Goblins, Rats, and a Rock Hydra.[2]
History
Varena was tasked by her House Master to test Garth's power, then quickly became his lover and friend; this created a strange friendship and rivalry with Norreen.[1] She helped rescue Garth from Zarel's prison. In the last match of the festival, she was paired against Garth, who was forced to kill her.[3] Luckily, she was revived by Hammen.[4] She later became the new Grand Master of the Arena.[5]
