Naru was a Giant from Kush on Dominaria. He was the House of Bolk's champion prior to the Time of Troubles, and became its master afterward.

Description

Standing nearly nine feet tall, powerfully built with a shaven bullet-shaped head[1] or a great beard and mane of hair,[2] Naru was usually dressed in nothing more than a loincloth, with his spell satchel held by a gold-encrusted strap. He was a fighter who was considered unintelligent, yet he was still able to control mana and considered a savant in its use.[3]

A ninth-rank fighter, Naru was so steeped in mana that one could feel when he entered the room.[1][4] He was the best fighter of Bolk for years before the Time of Troubles.[5] He favored green and red spells. He summoned mammoths, wolves, orcs, goblins, dwarves, a Wall of Fire, and a Stone Giant.[6] He gave his Juggernaut to Garth as a prize for winning their fight.

History

Naru was beaten outside of the Arena by Garth, losing multiple teeth in the fight.[1] Hammen stole his spell satchel. When Garth returned the spells, lying that he had taken it from a thief, the two became fast friends.[5] He defeated Lorrin of Kestha in the first round of the 998th Festival.[7] Naru later lost to Garth again in the Arena, but was only knocked unconscious despite fighting a deathmatch.[6]

After the Time of Troubles, Naru became the new master of the House of Bolk.[8]
