Magfire was the leader of the Folk of the Pines living in Arboria around 3334 AR on Jamuraa, Dominaria.
Description
Magfire wielded a hardwood shaft painted red and topped by an iron head like a whale's tooth. Her dark hair was braided tight to her head and stuck with white feathers. She wore a long oyster-white shirt with a wide belt, a mantle of silver fox, and boots wrapped with elk-hide. A cased bow and quiver hung over one shoulder. She spoke in an odd low-pitched whisper.[1]
History
Magfire and her people met Adira Strongheart and her Circle of Seven after their wreck in the Buzzard's Bay. Magfire warned the pirates of Shauku and the trapped Cosmic Horror in the tunnels below, as well as the deadly Floral Spuzzem. Together, they entered the Caverns of Despair< and encountered the Ghosts of the Damned and the Crimson Kobolds inside. They learned that the ancient vampire had trapped Johan in an Amber Prison. To defeat Shauku, they released the horror from its prison, and it summoned a Falling Star. Johan was released from his prison by a spurt of blood, and immediately ran away, triggering Adira's party to realize they also had to escape the descending meteorite. After they fled back into Arboria, the meteorite struck the ruined castle, obliterating it. In celebration, Magfire's brother Taurion volunteered to become part of Adira's Circle of Seven, while Magfire stayed behind.[1] Magfire later came to assist during the Battle of Palmyra, where her brother Taurion was killed by Johan.[2]
Trivia
- After Captain Ordando, Magfire is one of the very first LGBT characters in the story of Magic, aggressively flirting with Adira Strongheart and afterward being resentful of her rejection.[1]
