Tor Wauki the Elder was as an archer in the company of the pirate Ramirez DePietro.[1]
Description
Tor Wauki the Elder wore a tight jerkin, a red headscarf, and long burgundy gloves. He boasted several claims of sharpshooting, including shooting a jewel off Princess Lucrezia's crown, knocking Al-abara's brother off his flying carpet in El Kadiz Creek, and killing one of the Ivory Guardians with a single shot.[1]
History
After humbling Heath and arriving at Koltos before the Robaran Mercenaries, Tor was surprised by an Azure Drake, enraged by his red headband and gloves. Heath shot clean through Tor's bow, breaking it and thus getting his revenge. An enraged Tor and Ramirez tried to follow Adira Strongheart's ship, but they foundered on a sandbank due to sabotage of their ship.[1]
Trivia
- Similar to the problems with Lady Caleria, Xira Arien, and Ramirez DePietro's continuity, the problem of two characters with the same name was a result of bad communication between the writers. Clayton Emery was told to include certain legends from Legends, and Scott McGough wasn't informed those characters were already being used.
- For many years, it was considered unclear whether the Tor Wauki from Legends Cycle I and the Tor Wauki from Legends Cycle II were the same character or simply shared a name. Tor Wauki being a normal human, a long lifespan as explanation like Xira Arien and Lady Caleria could use was unlikely.[2] It wasn't until 2020, nearly two decades after the characters first appeared, that Magic's Creative referred to Tor Wauki "the Elder" in the backstory of Ramirez DePietro for Commander Legends, and two years later that Tor Wauki "the Younger" was featured in Legends Retold for Dominaria United.[3][4]
