Kujar is an exclusive residential district in the heart of Ghirapur, renowned for its serene beauty and masterful elven design. Every element of Kujar, from its winding paths to its smallest garden, is arranged according to the elves' philosophy of the Great Conduit, ensuring perfect harmony with the flow of aether. Coveted by the city's elite, Kujar stands as both a peaceful sanctuary and a symbol of the delicate balance between nature, artifice, and privilege in Avishkar.
Description
Kujar is one of Ghirapur's most exclusive residential zones, known for its elegant, green design and deep connection to the elves' philosophy of the Great Conduit. Every building, path, tree, and even each leaf is said to be placed with careful intention to align with the flow of aether and maintain harmony with the surrounding environment. While this pattern of design is immediately visible to elves, it remains an esoteric curiosity to most others—yet the peaceful beauty of Kujar is clear to anyone who visits. Winding paths cross broad, manicured lawns, small lakes reflect carefully arranged groves of trees, and the entire neighborhood feels like a living, breathing work of art. Despite the meandering look of its pathways, travel within Kujar is direct and efficient, a testament to the precision of its planning.[1]
Though Kujar was designed and laid out by elven architects and lifecrafters, people of all races live there, drawn by its tranquility and the belief that living in alignment with the Great Conduit brings prosperity and good fortune. Others claim, however, that only the fortunate and well-connected can afford a home in Kujar, as its limited space and intentional design make new construction extremely rare. When a house does become available, it attracts hundreds of applicants, and the waiting lists are long. Many high-level Consulate officials maintain grand estates in Kujar, fueling the perception that the Consulate's greatest benefits flow most freely to an elite few.[1]
Hidden deep within Kujar is the Prakhata Club, one of the city's most exclusive social societies. Access to the club begins at Sakti Station, an unremarkable stop on the Spring Line, but beyond the first door lies a series of secretive halls and multiple coded entrances that only the initiated can navigate. Past more than a dozen doors, members and their guests find themselves in a dimly lit lounge filled with thopters crafted to resemble fireflies, casting a soft, mystical glow throughout the space. A single staircase ascends from this lounge into the main hall, where the city's wealthiest gather each night for lavish parties that stretch until dawn. The club also hosts auctions for prized inventions and rare works of art, adding a quieter but no less exclusive dimension to its reputation.[1]
Above the main hall sits the Trophy Room, a secure suite where members display their most valuable devices and artifacts, each piece meant to spark envy and admiration. Nonmembers are only permitted inside under escort. Membership in the Prakhata Club is open solely to the wealthiest and most influential citizens of Ghirapur, governed by an elite circle of aetherborn whose rules date back to the earliest days of the city. The most prominent members are issued special brass-colored keys engraved with intricate lines that automate passage through the club's many doors, sparing them the need to input codes at every stop. Parties at the Prakhata Club are famously extravagant, each with its own elaborate theme and dress code that showcases invention and artifice, ensuring that its members remain at the cutting edge of Ghirapur's culture and fashion.[1]
