Albiuto is settlement on Albiuto Lake, in the mountains of Zhalfir.
Description
Eight leagues from Sidar Kondo's village on the Mtenda Plains, Albiuto is arrayed in a circle shape, held atop the water using magic and pontoon alike. The town is anchored to the shore by day and to the center of the lake by night. Around the lake stretches a thin strip of greenery, leaves swaying gently in the wind. On one side of the city, numerous gangplanks of bamboo and reed are drawn up, and on the other, jutting docks are full of boats. Between the two are a collection of tall, improbable buildings, jumbled together on the vast floating quay. Leaning on each other, connected by a series of wood bridges and rope walkways, the houses and shops of Albiuto are tall, ornamented with bay windows, turrets, arches, and towers, all in wood and bamboo, thatch, and reed.[1]
History
In 4193 AR, after failing his rite of passage due to Starke il-Vec's meddling, Vuel stole the Legacy artifacts from his step-brother Gerrard Capashen and brought them to Albiuto, where he sold some of them off. Karn followed Vuel there and confronted him, but Vuel used the Touchstone to deactivate Karn, leaving him frozen as a statue in the town square for 11 years until Sisay collected him and the Touchstone as part of her quest.
When Teferi phased Zhalfir out, Albiuto went with it and returned to the multiverse during the New Phyrexia-Zhalfir switch after New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse. Albiuto now exists as part of the plane of Zhalfir.
