The Teremko Mountains (teh-rem-koh) are a range of mountains that exist both on Dominaria and Zhalfir.
Description
The Teremko Mountains are the mountains that used to form the natural boundary between Zhalfir and Femeref. They formerly forked into two small chains with the Uktabi Jungle in between but now exist as part of two different planes, with the northern branch and Uktabi lying on the plane of Zhalfir. The southern branch is in Femeref, on the plane of Dominaria. The name is derived from a word meaning steep grade.
Locations
- Griffin Canyon. A valley that is a nesting place for the griffin-flocks. The mighty golden griffin Zuberi was said to live there.
- Little Teremko Mountains. Phased out of Dominaria with Zhalfir. Now exists as part of the plane of Zhalfir.[1]
History
After Vuel failed his rite of passage due to Starke having poisoned his body paint on the orders of his Phyrexian masters, he headed into the foothills of the Teremkos, where Starke caught up with him. Starke offered Vuel a chance for both leadership of Rath and vengeance against his brother and father, which Vuel accepted.[2]
One branch of the Teremkos were phased out of Dominaria by Teferi during the Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria. This branch now exists as part of the plane of Zhalfir.
