Javad Nasrin is a relic hunter from Ondu, who found the Seer's Sundial.[1]
Description
Javad has spent many years exploring harsh and challenging environments. His attire is practical and suitable for long expeditions, and he wears durable clothing and a hat for sun protection. He carries a sword, implying a readiness for combat and self-defense during his travels. His gear is well-maintained and essential for survival in the wild.
Javad exudes confidence from his extensive experience in relic hunting. He trusts his judgment and abilities, often reminding his companions of his years spent traveling the continent of Ondu. He tends to keep critical information to himself, such as the exact nature of the relic they seek. This secrecy indicates a cautious and strategic mindset. He shows resilience in the face of adversity, navigating through various dangers and continuing the mission despite significant losses and challenges. His decisions are practical, often focusing on the immediate needs and safety of the group, even if it means making difficult choices, such as splitting Ghazzan's pay among the survivors. Towards the end of the journey, Javad becomes introspective, contemplating the worth of the knowledge gained against the costs incurred. This suggests a deep, philosophical side to his character.
History
Javad and his team, including the minotaur Ghazzan, the merfolk lullmage Sali Oran, and the goblin trapfinder Keeda, set out with extra horses and a hurda packbeast to carry their gear and rations. They faced the relentless sun, encountering a lynx and later a felidar, losing their hurda but managing to kill the felidar with Ghazzan's and Javad's combined efforts. The team navigated dangerous marshlands, enduring slimy cliffs, swampy footing, and various predators. Ghazzan bravely protected the group but ultimately fell prey to a monstrous creature from the Crypt of Agadeem.
The team bartered their way aboard the Serpentcutter, crossing the Silundi Sea. They proceeded into Turntimber, where Keeda died saving the group from a pit of vipers and a basilisk. On the solstice, Javad and Sali Oran discovered the Seer's Sundial, an ancient and massive stone device. They studied its inscriptions, which portended a dark future. Despite the success in finding the Sundial, Javad reflected on the heavy cost of their journey. The sundial's revelations filled him with dread, and he decided to seek refuge and unburden himself at Graypelt Refuge.
