The Alara block is the fifteenth block consisting of the large expansion Shards of Alara (File:Shards of Alara symbol.png) and two small expansions, Conflux (File:Conflux symbol.png) and Alara Reborn (File:Alara Reborn symbol.png). The block came out in 2008-2009.

Keywords introduced in this block: devour, exalted, unearth, cascade.

Keywords/ability words reused from the past: cycling, domain (now an ability word with Conflux), typecycling (expanded upon with basic land cycling).

Mega Cycles

Planeswalkers: Each shard has a corresponding Planeswalker. Sarkhan Vol (Jund), Ajani Vengeant (Naya), Elspeth, Knight-Errant (Bant) and Tezzeret the Seeker (Esper) were introduced in Shards of Alara while the cycle was completed with Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker (Grixis) in Conflux.[1]
