The shaman Yurlok leads a thrash of viashino on Jund.
History
Utterly fearless, he hunts his prey in deliberately dangerous situations—lava flows make for quite the advantage when you know them like the back of your claw. Of course, a few viashino might fall in themselves, but that is merely the price of the thrash's survival. After the Conflux, Yurlok found his hunting grounds vastly expanded, and he believes Esper could use some lava-adjacent redecorating.[1]
Behind the scenes
Jesper Ejsing's art for Yurlok of Scorch Thrash is labeled "Shaatak, the Burning," implying this was the character and card's original name.[2] His original and updated epithets, as well as the card's mechanic, reference the obsolete mana burn rule.
