The Alara block is the fifteenth block consisting of the large expansion Shards of Alara () and two small expansions, Conflux () and Alara Reborn (). The block came out in 2008–2009.[1]

Mechanics

Keywords introduced in this block: devour, exalted, unearth, cascade.

Keywords/ability words reused from the past: cycling, domain (now an ability word with Conflux), typecycling (expanded upon with basic land cycling).

This block introduces the mythic rare rarity.

Products

A special Alara block all-foil booster pack, containing a selection of cards from all three sets (539 total), was released on January 8, 2010 for US$11.99[3][4][5]
