Agatha is a prosaic soldier from Esper, who defected to Bant after the Conflux.[1]

Description

Agatha is a prosaic soldier on Esper with a non-magical, physically robust appearance. She is practical, dressed in utilitarian gear suitable for a soldier. Her demeanor is worn and determined, reflecting the harsh conditions of her world. Agatha is tough and grounded, contrasting sharply with her sister Callio’s single-minded obsession with etherium. Agatha is disturbed by the exploitation of the dead for etherium, showing a deep sense of morality and respect for life. Despite the dire circumstances, Agatha stands up against her sister’s brutal methods and the overarching goals of the Seekers.

History

Agatha was stationed with her sister Callio on the spire of Harborgate and teleported from Esper to become part of Bant’s landscape. The environment was alien and daunting, pushing them to scavenge etherium from the dead. Their relationship was strained by Callio’s cold pragmatism and her willingness to sacrifice anything, even family, for the pursuit of etherium. Agatha’s horror at Callio’s actions grew, especially when Callio used magic to integrate etherium into a dead Bant aven. Agatha realized her sister had been a member of the ruthless Seekers of Carmot for years, and lying to her every day about it.

Agatha’s moral objections culminated in a tragic confrontation. When Callio attempted to coerce Agatha into assisting her further, Agatha defied her sister’s command. She then fatally shot Callio, unable to reconcile with her sister’s fanaticism. After killing Callio, Agatha, heartbroken and resolute, decided to defect to Bant. She plunged into the sea, leaving behind her weapon and her sister’s lifeless body. She swam toward the shore of Jhess, determined to start a new life in Bant, a land she perceived as valuing life over the relentless pursuit of etherium.
