"The Sapling", was a young "female" treefolk (though treefolk do not truly have genders) born from the seed cone of Colfenor the Red Yew, the last yew treefolk sage on Lorwyn. It was a part of Colfenor's master plan focused on freeing Lorwyn from Oona's control.[1][2]
It was one of the beings that survived the Great Aurora with its memories intact, and along with Maralen, Brigid, and Ashling, played an important role in Oona's fall.
After guiding the characters according to Colfernor's plans, it is ultimately destroyed by Oona, presumably making the yew treefolk extinct.
