The Mtenda Plains (meh-ten-dah), also known as the Mtenda Wilds, are vast plains on Zhalfir. They stretch along the heart of Zhalfir, from Tefemburu to Ki’pamu and bordering the Mwonvuli Jungle.

Description

Zhalfir's breadbasket; the plains are where their crops are grown (Mtinda - buttermilk). The plains are home to a vast variety of wildlife, including many griffins.

The southern portion of the Mtenda is known as the Ntatsu Plains. These were the ancestral lands of Rashida Scalebane, with the village of Kenlo.

History

The Mtenda were the home of Sidar Kondo and Vuel, and saw a lot of bloodshed after Vuel's failed rite of passage, when Starke il-Vec offered the youth a place as the Evincar of Rath and vengeance against his family.[1]

The Mtenda were phased out alongside the rest of northwestern Jamuraa since the planeswalker Teferi wanted to spare it from the horrors of the Phyrexian Invasion. They were forever lost from Dominaria when Jeska destroyed the time rift over the Zhalfirin Void.

The phased-out plains were returned to the multiverse during the New Phyrexia-Zhalfir switch after the New Phyrexian Invasion. They now exist as part of the plane of Zhalfir.
