Dean Augusta Tullus is an human cleric teacher at the Lorehold College of Strixhaven University on Arcavios.[1]

Description

Augusta Tullus, a professor of spirit studies, has been called the college's most talented pastraiser; she can not only summon ghostly historical figures but also conjure entire dioramas of historical events for her lectures.

Augusta believes that history repeats itself as orderly progress toward an ideal. She believes that the mistakes of the past can inform the choices of the present, creating a world of peace, order, and rules. She plays things very by the book and is highly disappointed with students who embark on Dean Plargg's dangerous field trips.[2]

History

During her tenure as Dean of Order at Lorehold, Augusta Tullus fell under the influence of a dangerous magical relic known as Murgaxor's orb, a glass artifact recovered during an expedition to the Fortress Badlands. Unbeknownst to her colleagues, the orb served as a conduit for the long-banished mage Murgaxor Grenshel, who used it to exert control over Tullus's mind and actions. While under this influence, Tullus became a woman of contrasts, both seen to be far warmer and touchier than normal with students, making sure to shake hands or pat backs whenever the chance presented itself, but also at the same time more cold and aloof, often uncharacteristically withdrawing from her usual duties and concealing herself within the Deans' Repository, an extradimensional archive accessible only through a hidden portal in the Deans' Wing, where she let the glass orb's sickly green light bathe over her. Unbeknownst to anyone, her touch transferred the orb's curse to others, causing sickness, hallucinations, and bouts of unconsciousness. When confronted in the Deans' Repository, she acted erratically and aggressively, speaking in a mechanical tone and commanding defensive constructs to attack intruders. Ultimately, Tullus was incapacitated and separated from the orb, freeing her from Murgaxor's control when the orb was destroyed. Following the incident, she regained her usual demeanor and resumed her position and, though shaken, worked quietly to contain the matter within the faculty.[2]
