Tel-Jilad, the Tree of Tales, was the largest of the trees in the Tangle. Inscribed onto its metal surface was the history of Mirrodin, except near the bottom where all the writings had been etched out.[1] The trolls considered this their sacred home, and they lived within its hollow core. Elves also held the place in high esteem, and only elves that were a part of the Tel-Jilad Chosen could enter it.

Tel-Jilad and the surrounding settlements were obliterated during the Phyrexian invasion, but one troll elder, Thrun, escaped with his people's knowledge intact.[2]
