Velis Vel Grotto is a subterranean cavern associated with the changelings of Lorwyn.[1][2] It is unknown to the plane's other tribes outside of a few merrows.[3]
Description
The cavern's walls are encrusted with quartz crystal and marked with runes, each one commemorating a form that has been taken by a changeling. Once each year, the sun shines through cracks in the ceiling, creating shifting lights.[4] Changelings are biologically drawn to the Grotto at this time, where they congregate and revert to their natural forms, and it is at this time of year that most changelings are created. Once the sun passes and the cavern dims, the changelings disperse.
