The Shattered Sea is the southeastern sea of the Terisian Isles.

Description

The Shattered Sea envelops the Shattered Isles and Korlis, bordering the southeastern coast of New Argive. It lies east of the Shielded Sea, west of the Visceral Sea, and south of the Videnthian Sea. The city of Bak-Fal is on the coast of the Shattered Sea. The sea takes its name from the numerous islets it holds along the shore, remnants of former Argoth and Fyndhorn. Kelsinko lies at the bottom of the Shattered Sea.

History

The Shattered Sea came into being during the Thaw when the meltwater that had been locked into the four glaciers of Terisiare started to rush out. The Flooding of Terisiare occurred over several decades, and the water pooled across the central parts of the continent, separating it into smaller isles that became known as the Terisian Isles.

Jaya Ballard formed a team of mages to try to hold the waters at bay, to keep Kelsinko from being claimed by the waves. They failed, and the city's inhabitants were forced to become refugees, fleeing east to Yavimaya under the guidance of Jaeuhl Carthalion and Kaysa. Some years later, the sea continued its rise inland in Kjeldor, eventually also swallowing the plague-ridden, vampire-haunted streets of Krov.[1]
