The Shattered Isles is an archipelago of broken rocks that include the remnants of Argoth, southeast of New Argive, part of the larger Terisian Isles of Dominaria.
Description
The Shattered Isles are numerous broken basalt spires and islets in the Shattered Sea, south of Korlis. The continental plate underneath the Isles is broken, and because of this, there's a north-south deep-sea trench that runs almost to Sarpadia.
History
At the end of the Brothers' War, Urza activated the Golgothian Sylex, causing a massive explosion that broke the land beneath it. Argoth was utterly destroyed, and most life near it perished. Parts of the land crumbled into the ocean, leaving only smaller fragments of isles. What was left was mostly bare, broken rock.
A few small, scattered islands remained in Argoth's former location, monolithic spires of basalt stone lashed by waves.[1] After the blast, the few remaining elves eked out a meager existence, until migrating to Fyndhorn many centuries later.
During the Flooding of Terisiare, the Shattered Sea formed around the islands as Fyndhorn and Kelsinko sank beneath its waves. Jaya Ballard formed a team of mages to attempt to keep the waters at bay, but failed.[2]
