Mutagen is an artifact type and a predefined token introduced in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT).

In general, a mutagen is substance that permanently changes genetic material. In the TMNT franchise is represented by a green viscous ooze, which plays a key role in the story — not only because it caused the creation of the Ninja Turtles. In some stories it was created by the Utrom.
In game terms Mutagen is used to place a +1/+1 counter on a creature, which causes the creature to count as modified. It is activated by
and sacrificing the token.
As Mutagen is an IP-specific term, the token has to be renamed if it is to be reused in other Magic sets.[1]
