!Kath of the Malpiri clan was one of the founders of the Third Path, the representative of Sardia, who came with knowledge of their mountain home.[1]
Description
!Kath was bald and beardless and wore an eyepatch over one eye. He wore red clothing and had red face paint or tattoos on his forehead.
History
!Kath joined Hurkyl, Drafna, Feldon, Chayum-Icha and others to attend meetings with the Archimandrite of the Ivory Tower to establish the Union of the Third Path. They had hoped to create an alliance of magic users, historians, intellectuals, and artificers from across the continent that sought neutrality in the war between Urza and Mishra. Members of the Third Path were the first to delve into the arcane and rigorously study it, perhaps in all of Terisiare's history. Because of its friendly atmosphere, people of all cultures flocked to Terisia City to join the teams of mages and scholars and seek shelter from the chaos elsewhere. The Union was hailed as a peaceful counterpoint to the two brothers, but it was not to last.
It is not known if !Kath was present for the Fall of Terisia City, or if he escaped beforehand like many others did. Either way, the Third Path lived on in smaller pockets of magic users that eventually joined the hidden citadel of the Conclave of Mages.
