Urza-Mishra War[1] |
Chayum-Icha was one of the founders of the Third Path, the representative of the Yumok who came with knowledge of their forest home.
Description
Chayum-Icha had thick red hair and a beard, and like the rest of his people, he wore green clothing and thick furs. Living near the Ronom Glacier, the Yumok lands were cold even before the onset of the Dark Age, which necessitated warmer clothing. The Yumok considered contact with artifacts anathema, but Chayum-Icha's interest in the collaborative use of magic was unhindered.
History
Chayum-Icha joined Hurkyl, Drafna, Feldon, Kathwar and others to attend meetings with the Archimandrite of the Ivory Tower to establish the Union of the Third Path. They had hoped to create an alliance of magic users, historians, intellectuals, and artificers from across the continent that sought neutrality in the war between Urza and Mishra. Members of the Third Path were the first to delve into the arcane and rigorously study it, perhaps in all of Terisiare's history. Because of its friendly atmosphere, people of all cultures flocked to Terisia City to join the teams of mages and scholars and seek shelter from the chaos elsewhere. The Union was hailed as a peaceful counterpoint to the two brothers, but it was not to last.
It is not known if Chayum-Icha was present for the Fall of Terisia City, or if he escaped beforehand like many others did. Either way, the Third Path lived on in smaller pockets of magic users that eventually joined the hidden citadel of the Conclave of Mages.
