Jabras is a councilor of Femeref on the continent of Jamuraa, on the plane of Dominaria.

Description

Councilor Jabras is a corpulent figure, his large belly evident even beneath his richly adorned robes. His posture and mannerisms suggest a life of comfort and ease, reflected in his somewhat smug demeanor. His presence in the Council of Voices is significant, as he holds firm opinions on the matters at hand. His expressions display a mix of disdain and arrogance, especially when discussing issues like the Efravan caravan. Jabras is a proponent of the Council's stringent policies, aligning himself with the broader consensus of protecting Femeref from perceived threats, even at the cost of humanitarian aid.

History

During a meeting in the Great Chamber, Jabras participated in a heated debate where Niambi petitioned the Council of Voices to lift a decree prohibiting aid to the Efravan caravan. Despite Niambi’s impassioned arguments about the dire needs of the Efravan, Jabras, along with other council members, maintained a firm stance against assisting. He asserted that difficult decisions were necessary in times of conflict, showing little empathy for the Efravans' plight. Jabras, along with Councilors Gbega and Awateh, supported the notion that the Efravan might be a threat due to past associations with Yawgmoth and the possibility of Phyrexian influence. His insistence on maintaining the blockade, despite the looming threat of the Phyrexian machine, reflected his adherence to the Council's collective fear and prejudice. When Niambi's fervent pleas failed to sway the Council, Jabras and others dismissed her and continued to reinforce their position.

However, a few days later, Jabras, along with Awateh and Gbega, spied Niambi bringing Sidar Teshunda into a carriage headed for the Efravan mines. They shouted for Teshunda to stop, but their voices were unheeded. The councilors worriedly arranged their transport to the mines in the wake of Teshunda's carriage, but they were too late. When they arrived, Teshunda had made up his mind and had welcomed the Efravan to Femeref, despite the councilors' protestations.
