The Founding of New Vodalia was an event that occurred in 3307 AR at Etlan Shiis, on the plane of Dominaria.

Description

After abandoning her empire of the Old Voda Sea to the homarids during the Fall of the Sarpadian Empires in 170 AR, Galina and a retinue of her most loyal subjects, including the mage Akoroun and Marshall of her armies, Karel Volnikov, attempted to journey to Etlan Shiis and establish a new empire there. However, something happened during the teleportation spell, and Galina and her subjects were pulled through time 3137 years into the future. The exact reason why this occurred has never been explained, and it was not by either Galina's or Akoroun's intent, but, notably, the Tolarian Temporal Disaster which sent bursts of disrupted time bubbles far across the waters happened the same year the merfolk emerged from their portal, and in the global neighborhood of the Voda Sea.

When Galina and her court emerged, they encountered a much more advanced society at Etlan Shiis than they had expected, and Akoroun understood fairly quickly what had happened. Although she was angered at the spell gone awry and killed Akoroun in a rage since she now faced a nation much less inclined to receive her well, Galina nonetheless went ahead with her plan, meeting any resistance with immediate and ruthless violence. After murdering her way through the surprised elites of Etlan Shiis, Galina asserted herself as the new empress, renaming the realm New Vodalia, and setting her sights on expansion.
