Avram Garrisson was a former knight of Kjeldor and the leader of the Order of Stromgald during the last years of the Ice Age of Dominarian Terisiare.[1]

Description

Avram Garrisson was a taller and more impressive man than Darien, wearing heavy armor, and with a short, gray beard. He was the de facto leader of the various fighting orders and General of the Armies of Kjeldor in all but name. He was a favorite of Darien's mother, the queen of Kjeldor, who died in 2933 AR and left Darien with the throne and no other help.[1]

History

Avram Garrisson grew into a powerful military figure in the last part of the Ice Age. He became the informal general of the armies of Kjeldor, but he thought of the new king Darien as weak. His appointed aide, Captain Varchild was also against him, stopping short of joining Garrisson's independence movement. Garrisson hated the Balduvians so much that he was willing to listen to and ally himself with Lim-Dûl, working with the necromancer to overthrow Darien. He and several other betrayers to the throne formed an order that named themselves after Márton Stromgald, reanimated by Lim-Dûl into a powerful undead servant. Garrisson and his followers considered Stromgald a real and storied Kjeldoran hero, like Jarkeld of old, and so they named their rising faction the Order of Stromgald. In the end, though, their plans were thwarted by Jodah and Jaya, and after they fled to Lim-Dûl, they were killed and added to the necromancer's zombie army. The undead Garrisson participated in Lim-Dûl's Battle, where he goaded Gustha Ebbasdotter into expending her most powerful spells against him, though he was warded against her magic, leading to her death. He also faced off against his former aide, Varchild, but their duel was interrupted by an eruption throwing the battlefield into chaos.[1]

The undead Garrisson was killed in this battle, and his body was burned on the pyre.[2]
