Achievements are introduced on Magic: The Gathering Arena with Aetherdrift on February 11, 2025. They focus on rewards for playing matches in different styles and formats rather than simply winning.

Description

At launch, 113 achievements become available.[1] The Arena team outlined three goals for

  • Encourage player exploration of the platform by pointing players to different game modes and allowing players to earn rewards without having to win games.
  • Provide engaging content for everyone by giving players who aren't necessarily driven by winning games options to progress within Arena.
  • Promote self-expression by encouraging players to collect additional avatars, phrases, stickers, and sleeves.

Adding achievements to MTG Arena was first announced at the Magic 30 panel held during Gen Con 2023.[2]
