Macher is a human cathar on Innistrad. He had doubts about Avacyn's divinity, and his prayer that she be true summoned her to him. But Avacyn had already begun her descent into madness. Instead of comforting Macher, she intimidated him thoroughly, leaving him to scream and cower in her shadow as she flew away. He lay there huddled through the night, cloaked in terrifying certainty about the nature of his god.
