History

Amsel who grew up as a thief and amassed a 300 sovereign reward at age 13, before being adopted by Father Jofridus and given the name "Raben", after the Thraben Cathedral. Trained as a cathar at the Elgaud Grounds with Reika Eberhardt, and served as a strategist leading cathars in Kessig. Jofridus sent him to locate the Bloodletter, which he retrieved after finding and killing the vampire lord Thatu Reiniger. After learning of Jofridus's betrayal, he slew the demon possessing Reika's corpse and killed Jofridus with the Bloodletter after sustaining injuries from the sword himself. Amsel used the Skirsdag yoke to stop his heart and grant himself eternal life, forsaking the "Raben" name Jofridus had given him and returning to his original name, Amsel.
