Caztaca Huicintli is the apex priestess of the Threefold Sun in the Sun Empire on Ixalan.[1]
Description
Caztaca is the eldest daughter of Apatzec Intli III and sister of Atlacan Huicintli and Apatzec Intli IV.[2][3] As she is much older than the boy-emperor and serves as his chief tutor, she is often referred to as his aunt.[2]
Prior to its destruction in the Phyrexian war, Caztaca held dominion over Otepec. An especially tall woman, she is roughly the same height as Saheeli Rai. Severe, she wears fine, if muted, Sun Empire regalia and a broad helm of office.
Seeking peace
After the invasion, the factions of Sun Empire continued vying for power. A second Dawn Fleet was constructed in Queen's Bay, along with dozens of mechanoquetzacama (mechanical dinosaurs), in preparation for an invasion of Torrezon.[2] Hoping to prevent war, Caztaca plotted to depose her bellicose brother Atlacan and conspired with Saint Elenda of Garrano who hoped to subvert the rising faction under Vona de Iedo, the Antifex. Admiral Beckett Brass crashed a meeting of the two factions, agreeing to support their causes in exchange for a Brazen Coalition state in the ocean between the two.[3]
