National Championships
Years held: 1995 to 2011
2017 & 2018

National Championship tournaments were held annually in Norway from 1995 through to 2011, then again in 2017 and 2018.[1][2] The winner of these events was named Norwegian Champion and headed the national team at that years' World Championship.

Between 2012 and 2016 the title Norwegian Champion was instead given to the Norwegian player with the highest amount of Pro Points in a particular Pro Tour season.

National Championships (1995 to 2011)

National team members for the World Championships, where known, are in marked in bold.

  • Between 1997 and 2000, and in 2007, teams had 4 players.[3]
  • Between 2001 and 2006, and 2008 to 2011 teams, consisted of three players. The two losing semi-finalists would play off for 3rd place. 4th place still received an invitation as an Alternate. (Italicised)

Invitations could be formally declined and would be offered in turn to the next player in the standings.
