The Lady of Otaria, also known as the Lady of the Mountain, is an avatar from Dominara worshiped as a deity by the Dwarves of Otaria and Sarpadia.

Description

The Lady of Otaria was born fully formed from a stone egg. She has her mother Gaea’s pearly, smooth, almost-translucent skin, and her father Fiers’s tall, athletic, well-toned body. The Lady’s long white hair flows about her shoulders and down her back. Her voice is low and throaty like the sound of a waterfall. The lady's real name is three words which translate to "Daughter, Helpmate, Soul" by her parents, Gaea and Fiers. The last of these, the name that means Soul, is Faerchae.[1]

History

The Lady of Otaria was once said to have been a giant known as the Lady of the Mountain and later an avatar. Dwarven legends say she was created by Gaea and Fiers working together to watch and care for Dominara. The Lady was hatched from inside a giant stone egg that Fiers placed among lava vents to heat. At some point, demon despoilers attacked the world, creating the goblins to undo its beauty and steal its riches. With the help of Fiers, the Lady then created the dwarves to defend her world. The Lady and the dwarves defeated the evil, but the Lady was injured and had to rest within an earthen core to recuperate. Since that day, the dwarves have kept her three names secret, as speaking those names could summon her in cases of dire need. Three times she could be summoned in this manner before she would bring the dwarves with her and leave Dominaria for all time. The first time her names were used was by the Sarpadian dwarves to evacuate them from Sarpadia to Terisiare when their empire fell following the Brothers' War. She may have also been summoned a second time during the first Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria.[1][2][3]
