Ikenet was a human from the village of Morningbrook in northern Aerona, who became a friend of the minotaurs of Hurloon.

History

Ikenet was an acrobat who was evicted when she became pregnant with their ringleader. She was thrown out of the village for begging and went up to the freezing Hurloon mountains to die. However, she was found by the minotaur Hamu. He took her in and cared for her, and they became friends. She taught him how to dance, tended to his home, and brewed tea. He provided her with food and shelter, and luxurious rock gazelle clothing. During the annual contest between the males, Ikenet performed together with Hamu, earning the Great Mother Makura's favor and much adoration from the crowd. However, the wrestling contest held to decide which male got to breed with the most desirable female was won by the arrogant Herhoona, who earlier injured Hamu and threatened Ikenet. Despite Herhoona's victory, Makura chose Hamu as her Consort once again, even allowing Hamu to meet his son Amahu. Herhoona was enraged at this insult and charged Makura, but was tackled down by other males and executed by one of the Grandmothers for endangering a Mother and her child. Ikenet eventually left Hurloon but was asked to bring other Horn Dancers back so that the new tradition could continue. [1]
