Kathy Ice
Kathy Ice is a former Magic author and editor, working for Wizards of the Coast between 1994 and 1995.
Ice wrote two pieces of short fiction, The Brothers' War[1] and The Dark, published in the first two issues of The Duelist. She was also an associate editor of that magazine. In addition, she edited both anthologies published by HarperPrism, Tapestries and Distant Planes.
She introduced Carol Monahan to Dave Howell, which eventually led to Monahan taking on the role of Wizards of the Coast's first Director of Sales.[2] Another former Wizards employee, Nancy, recalled that Ice and Beverly Marshall Saling deliberately pushed to include female characters on cards and in the lore, and that groups of women at Wizards of the Coast would go out to local places to play Magic together, to attract other women to the game.[3]
