Four Final Fantasy Commander Decks were released together with Final Fantasy on June 13, 2025. These are meant to be on-ramps to Commander, with new cards and reprints.[2]
Description
While Commander precons are usually themed around certain characters, colors, or strategies, the twist with these is that each one is built around a single Final Fantasy game – specifically VI, VII, X, and XIV.[3][4]
Each deck introduces 25 never-before-seen Commander cards to Magic: The Gathering. All reprints in the Commander decks have new art, suited to the Final Fantasy theme. The nonland reprints use art from within that deck’s game, while lands can appear from any of the four games included in the product. Secret Rendezvous appears in four different versions.[5] The decks have a MSRP of $69.99.[3]
Card have the FIC expansion code. The face commanders and the secondary commanders are #1-8. The other new cards are #9-#100. Extended art Legendaries are #101-193. Borderless Sagas are #194-200 and the borderless commanders are #201-208. Surge foil commanders are #220-227 and their borderless variants are #209-216. Secret Rendezvous variants are #217-219. The Buy-a-Box promo is #220. The reprints (all with new art) are #229-441. Command Tower variants are #484-486. New cards with the FIC set code are permitted in the Commander, Legacy, and Vintage formats. Previously printed cards with the FIC set code are legal for play in any format where a card with the same name is permitted.[6]
Card numbers FIC #442-483 are as yet unaccounted for and are possibly part of the Final Fantasy Holiday Release
