Two Aetherdrift Commander Decks were released together with Aetherdrift on February 14, 2025.[2]

Description

The two Commander decks are centered around the visited planes of Avishkar and Amonkhet, leaning into things specific to those worlds that the main set didn’t have space for.[3] The design team restricted the amount of decks to two, in response to players' complaints that there were too many Commander deck release.[4]

Each deck introduces ten never-before-seen Commander cards to Magic: The Gathering.[5] New Aetherdrift Commander cards with the DRC set code numbered #1-20 (and their alternative versions numbered #21-36) are permitted in the Commander, Legacy, and Vintage formats. Returning cards with the DRC set code and numbered #36-184 are legal for play in any format where a card with the same name is permitted. Reprints with new art suited to the Aetherdrift theme are #37-61. Other reprints are #62-184.
