The Alara block is the fifteenth block consisting of the large expansion Shards of Alara () and two small expansions, Conflux () and Alara Reborn (). The block came out in 2008-2009.[1]

Mechanics

Keywords introduced in this block: devour, exalted, unearth, cascade.

Keywords/ability words reused from the past: cycling, domain (now an ability word with Conflux), typecycling (expanded upon with basic land cycling).

this block also introduces the mythic rare rarity wich was after this set implemented in every other later set
